What is a Security Screen ?

A security screen looks similar to an insect screen but is much, much stronger. The security screen installs in the window reveal of an existing window and is designed similar to a "pre-hung" door. The door portion has a heavy steel or aluminum frame that holds stainless steel wire cloth or a steel perforated panel and hinges to a subframe. Just like a door is hinged to the buck.

The subframe is screwed into the window reveal and has fitting pieces to make the subframe appear to be part of the original window opening.
